This winter in Houston, families will explore the most interactive and technologically advanced light display in Texas at Space Center Houston!

There will be tons of activities and much to see! Embark on a festive adventure and continue the Space City tradition this holiday season during Galaxy Lights, presented by Reliant.

In addition to the listed theme activities of these awesome summer camps, ALL camps will include exciting chemical reactions and explosions, physics, stretchy/gooey polymers, molecular model building, and much more!

This electrifying season of excitement is anything but ordinary!

There is something to do every day, including events like interactives, demonstrations, spotlight performances, meet-and-greets, and more!

Register your children ages 4-12 for a week-long camp at a 155-acre nature sanctuary, where they can enjoy fun-filled activities that explore the natural world through active, hands-on indoor and outdoor adventures.

This critter-filled camp allows children to bring their pet dreams to life, whether it’s owning a hamster, a dog, or a kitty.

Kids can create many pets using clay, paint, and drawing materials and design unique accessories for their new four-legged friends. The camp offers a fun and interactive way for children to explore their creativity and imagination.

Camp Zoofari offers an immersive and educational experience for children aged 6-12.

With a focus on wildlife conservation, campers have the opportunity to explore the Zoo, meet various animals, and make new friends. Through interactive activities and educational sessions, children will gain knowledge and understanding about wildlife and how to protect them in their natural habitats.

A typical day at camp blends nature exploration with active outdoor experiences under the guidance of knowledgeable educators.

Campers learn more about the natural world through Fishing, Canoeing, Pond Exploration, Insect Collecting, Bird Watching, Hiking, Dip Netting, Arts and Crafts, Live Animal Presentations, and Camp Games.

This summer, kids will engage in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities while learning about medical science and the human body.

Campers will take part in health-themed interactive experiences and explore all that The Health Museum has to offer.

This summer program consists of three 30-minute rotations, with a maximum of 20 people per group (60 total).

The stations include a visit to the Discovery Room, a self-guided scavenger hunt on one of the many trails, and an adventure in the Nature Playscape.

This camp is centered around the theme of “Influencers in History”, where campers will be transported back in time to explore the lives and works of the world’s greatest artists and thinkers who have made significant contributions to history.

Children will get to embark on a morning of nature discovery with this weekly program that takes them on an exploration of the different habitats at the Arboretum.

The program includes outdoor explorations, visits to the private Discovery Room, adventure play on the Nature Playscape, and the chance to meet one of the Ambassador Animals!

The program invites children between 2-4 years of age to join in for an interactive nature exploration experience.

Designed to be a perfect opportunity for Tiny Trekkers to learn more about the natural world around them, older siblings are welcome to participate in the activities as well, provided they register for the program.

Kids ages 10-12 will follow beginner flight school training as they learn the science that a pilot needs to know, how physics is used to control the aircraft, and the mechanics inside the planes.

Crafty youngsters with a passion for all things Hawaiian are being called to join a class that is perfect for unleashing their creative side and powering up their problem-solving skills.

Inspired by the wildly popular series Nailed It!, this class will provide everything needed to recreate an awesome final product, but it’s entirely up to the kids how they make it happen. 

Kids ages 3-7 with an adult caregiver will explore and create messy things like mud, flowers, paint, and shaving cream.

Participants will make works of art as well as just good old messy fun.

Naturally Wild Families creates outdoor experiences for families in the heart of the city.

Families will get to join naturalists for some quality time with their loved ones learning new skills and ways to get outside and be healthier, happier, and smarter!

Kids ages 6-11 and 11-14 will enjoy a week full of cooking, learning, and virtual travel as they explore the culinary traditions of Asia!

Campers will be preparing food from China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, India, the Philippines, and Vietnam. 

The theme of this session is “A Journey to Down Under”, where campers will have the opportunity to explore the vibrant and diverse cultures of Australia and New Zealand.

This challenge will test kids ages 10-12 skills and nerves! Each race segment puts them into the world of the most demanding places people fly.

Campers will learn about the geography, weather, and other conditions that make each location so risky as they race around the world.

Children will have the opportunity to showcase their Pokémon skills and creativity as they participate in creating Pokémon inspired art.

Using a variety of art materials, kids will be able to make their own trading cards, Pokémon balls, a Pokémon-inspired creature, and a map of its habitat!

Family Nature Nights combine crafts with guided nature walks and live animal presentations for the whole family!

The event will include themed paper and food crafts, a brief guided nature walk in the park, and an engaging, interactive presentation by Head Naturalist Eric Duran with live animals and specimens.

Kids will have the opportunity to paint with plaster, experiment with tie-dye, create papier-mache birds, and unleash their inner Jackson Pollock by flinging paint.

As they dive into these projects, they’ll also learn some art terminology. 

Each day, campers ages 10-12 will examine a different set of warbirds – observers, trainers, dive bombers, fighters, and heavy bombers – up close to see how differences in technology meant life or death on the battlefield, and learn about the pilots and crew that relied on their machine to get the job done.

In this guided lesson, children will recreate Van Gogh’s Starry Night painting using a super cool and messy art technique.

Kids ages 8-9 will get to discover the early history of flight with sometimes good, sometimes crazy ideas for flying machines.

Hot air balloons, planes, helicopters, rockets, and more – they will focus on a different type of flier each day and experiment with the science that makes each aircraft work and build flying contraptions that follow the same rules of flight.

Throughout the course of the program, children will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of clay types, including Model Magic® and air-dry clay. With different tools and techniques, they will learn how to create a range of objects, from animals and castles to bowls and more. 

In this 3-day camp, kids ages 10-12 will cross the thin line from air to space!

Campers will see how astronauts lived in the shuttle cabin as they explore NASA’s crew cabin trainer, inspect the flight simulator that trained all the shuttle pilots, and learn how to fly from outer space to a thin runway.

Scouts will have an enriched experience in these overnights that teaches young girls about the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics involved with space exploration.

Each night is tailored to the individual ages of the Scouts. The activities are badge-inspired, STEM-based, and all about space!

Get inspired by the works of famous artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Gustav Klimt, and Pablo Picasso, and recreate their masterpieces in clay.

Your child will have the opportunity to create well-known artworks such as Van Gogh’s Field of Irises, Monet’s Sailboat at Le Petit Gennevilliers, Klimt’s The Sunflower, and Picasso’s Colombe. 

Women pilots during World War II? Yes!

In this girl-centric camp, kids ages 10-12 will retrace the steps of historic women in aviation – from Queen Bess wowing the crowds in the 1920s, the service of WASPs during the war, and the spirit of Amelia Earhart.

Kids will have a blast creating cute clay animal sculptures, sleepy sloths adorned with adorable flower crowns, and more.

They’ll even sculpt cool candy scenes with frosting, colorful candy, and a Fruit Loop rainbow that will tempt their sweet tooths. 

If your child loves pink and purple, this is the perfect camp for them!

At this art camp, they’ll create adorable projects like pink-frosted cupcakes, lavender baskets, and butterflies surrounded by fuchsia flowers, all in shades of pink and purple. Don’t love those colors? No problem! Other color options will be available too.

Space Center Houston invites people of all ages diagnosed with conditions such as, but not limited to, autism spectrum disorder and sensory processing disorder, to explore science and space exploration in a reduced sensory environment.

Over the course of five days, children will be immersed in the beauty and culture of the Hawaiian Islands through three classes: Art 1, Art 2, and Culture Clash.

This mini-camp provides a unique opportunity to learn about Hawaii’s rich history while exploring its artistic side.

Astronaut Days provide multiple opportunities to spot a space explorer, from Astronaut Mission Memories and Q&A sessions to bingo and book signings.
